Woah! Just played this game and my excitement just wouldn’t die out. Mega Dead Pixel is one hell of an arcade retro game on your iOS gadget. Extremely fast-paced, and nerve-wracking.
Play as this tiny square white pixel as he makes his way through a jungle of obstacle pixels. Paint or die, that’s the ideology behind this game. Move along jet-black pixels in order to paint them, giving you points, and eventually obtaining the “Mega Pixel” boost power-up. Where you travel at light speed blasting obstacles while gaining more and more points. Your goal is to paint or destroy as much pixels as you can.
Mega Dead Pixel Launch Trailer
Graphics: Average
Lovable graphics for those retro fans out there. Retro style graphics have been a craze lately, from Minecraft to Terraria, and other similar looking ones. It seems that they’ve found their way back from the covens of old arcade shops to the new age of mobile gaming. It is indeed incomparable in terms of graphical quality compared to recent benchmark games like the Infinity Blade series and Dead Space, but nonetheless reminiscent and fun.
Sound: Good
Upbeat retro music gives a feeling of playing in an arcade shop, where almost all sounds are techno-like. Even though I am not much of a fun, I still appreciate it. Common and annoying at times.
Gameplay: Great
Fast-paced thrilling gameplay gets your blood going, and enhances your hand and eye coordination, and reaction time. Definitely not for the slow-minded, this game was surely built for casual arcade lovers and enthusiasts, as it reminisces you with the past and at the same time lets you appreciate the advancement of our gaming industry. The game is quite hurtful to the eyes especially if you set the brightness setting of your device up high, since all the colors used are vibrant. But do remember.. that these particular vibrant colors were what made the gaming industry before flourish. So in overall, I guess you could say that bringing-up retro-styled games once in a while could be a good idea.
Cons: Sounds can be annoying at times. Too high brightness setting may hurt eyes due to extremely vibrant colors.
